It is with great sadness that the Canadian Club of Hamilton announces the passing of one of its current Board members, Marie Robbins.
Through the years, Marie contributed greatly to the community as a businesswoman, honoured Rotarian, and as an educator – elementary school teacher, teacher to indigenous students and for 12 years Marie taught English to new Canadians. Marie’s active contribution to the community was also recognised when she was named “Citizen of the Year” by the Stoney Creek Chamber of Commerce in 2017.
Marie was a long-time member of the Canadian Club and recently joined the board to help revitalize the club. Marie’s contribution of the beautiful floral arrangements for our inaugural event last October, represented how she seamlessly integrated her membership on the board, her connections within the floral business and her unique personal insight to add a very special something that elevated the whole zeitgeist of the occasion.
Marie was a wonderful person who touched many people throughout her life. The Canadian Club of Hamilton will miss her greatly.
