Christopher “Chris” Benjamin Cutler

November 18th , 1960 – February 7th , 2022

Chris was a long-time member of our club, serving as president and member
of the Board. His smile and fun nature always enlivened any meeting or event
he was attending.

The Board of the Canadian Club of Hamilton is saddened by Chris’ passing
and remembers him as someone who cared greatly for the well-being of
others. He dedicated his life to making Hamilton and Canada a better place
in which to live, in both official languages.

Chris was a friend to all. His roots ran deep in the city as Community
Relations advisor to Mayor Fred Eisenberger, with his daily walks through
downtown to catch the beat of the city and how many of us would bump into
him at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market.

In addition to his activities with the Canadian Club, Chris was involved with
numerous other local organisations. He was part of the Rotary Club and
served as President of the Rotary Club of Hamilton in 2013. He was Chair of
the Hamilton branch of the St. Leonard’s Society of Canada and was National
Co-Chair at both the Canadian Peace Initiative and the Federation of
Canadian Municipalities. He served as City Councillor for the Town of
Flamborough, was a Paul Harris Fellow and a recipient of the YMCA Peace
Medal.

We were very fortunate to have Chris as part of the Canadian Club of
Hamilton. He will be missed.
